Does my Registration include the Autumn/Winter Edition event?
The Online Summer Edition Passes only include online events and programming for the June Summer Edition. You’ll need a separate ticket for Autumn/Winter Edition when registration goes live in August 2021.
Will their be in-person events during the Summer Edition?
We are not currently planning in-person summer events. Should local guidance change, we will be sure to update you, however even if it becomes possible in-person events will be extremely limited so plan to watch the entire festival streamed online!
Do events have limited registration?
The great part of this year’s virtual platform is that once you purchase your ticket, the platform automatically creates your profile. Once our calendar of events has been uploaded into the virtual platform, you will receive a notification that you are able to create your festival schedule. We highly recommend you RSVP to all the events you would like to attend, in order to reserve your spot. Especially for the events that have limited spots available. Once you do, you’ll be sent automated reminders so you can add it to your calendar.
Will sessions be recorded?
Yes, most sessions will be recorded. Anyone who has purchased a ticket for our Online Summer Edition will have access to the events through the end of August 2021. Can’t make every event in person as it goes live? No worries, just login prior to August 2021 to view any event recording.
What time zone does the festival take place?
All times are posted in PST (Pacific Standard Time Zone). International guests, please make a note so you don’t miss any of the content, or purchase an All-Access Pass so you can watch the recordings during your own time zone.
What if I purchased a ticket but can no longer attend?
Unfortunately, we do not accept refund requests. All funds raised go towards expenses affiliated with producing this event and cannot be refunded. Consider your purchase a donation to support the design community (Thank You!)
What is a Virtual Design Festival?
We will be hosting both live and pre-recorded content in digital and online formats as well as a few special virtual and augmented reality events. There will also be ample opportunities for networking and socializing through our special 1:1 and small group events. Spaces are typically limited for the VR, Portfolio and Mentoring Sessions and Networking events so secure your spots!
VR, 1:1 and Small Group Networking
These events have very limited spots available. Please only sign up if you can absolutely attend to be respectful of the other people in your groups. If you register and can’t attend these smaller events, please un-register for the specific event so that someone else can take your place!
Do I have to have a VR Headset to Participate?
Yes and no. While most of the events will be digital and online content (and don’t require the use of a VR headset) there are a few events which having a headset might elevate your experience. However, we’re also creating workarounds so that you can still enter the rooms through your desktop or laptop. Check the description on each event page to view requirements.
How to register for the mentorship series:
If you are interested in being a MENTOR, register by May 30th and select the option “Yes” on the question about mentoring. We will contact you directly to set up your session.
If you are interested in being a MENTEE login into the platform starting on June 3rd and book a timeslot with available mentors (first come first serve, slots fill quickly)
While we’re excited to bring this alternative format due to COVID19!
