Bittersweet: A conversation and chocolate tasting exploring entrepreneurial womxn’s take on what lies between sorrow and longing and the nuances of the creative process?
Being a creator, having an offering like a restaurant for your community, or living an entrepreneurial life takes fuel and most of that fuel comes from pain, yearning, longing or just the ability of allowing yourself to feel. The bitter sweetness of life or what it means to be alive, as discussed in the book Bittersweet by Susan Cain is something that as we age becomes more and more apparent. The pandemic has shed light specifically for modern womxn and working mothers on how challenging balance can be. Is our work better if we live out of balance, is what we express and produce for the world an expression of our longing? Does more longing produce a more visceral expression? Is it impossible to find balance between the nuances of your creative process and the needs of your body, family, and work? Join ROY at our studio in a discussion and chocolate tasting to explore what lies at the intersection of bitter and sweet in our life, and creative process.
