BRILLIANT MINDS, GREAT DESIGN: ODADA and BCJ Architects

We will tour these two inspiring studios to see current work on the books, and well as to understand how thesevery diverse top designers work, collaborate, and how design happens.
As we meet these leading designers and tour their exciting and very different studios, we discuss new design directions, creativity, new ideas, and design inspiration.
Viewing their newest work and work in progress, we see that adaptability, tech knowledge, and a broad understanding of aesthetics are essential elements in today’s interiors and architecture.
You will meet designers and their associates. All are committed to sustainability of the built environment, responsible use of materials, and efficient design and implementation. Their team is diverse, valued, and highly motivated.
We will discuss use of tech including 3D printing, VR and new ways designers work. PARTICIPANTS will have the opportunity to ask questions. We can discuss ‘how to apply for a job’ and ‘how to develop a career’.
Followed by a reception at end of day where attendees can meet design firm staff, discuss ideas from the visit, and learn more about advancing in the design world.

ABOUT Diane Dorrans Saeks
Private guided visits to richly detailed private design studios in San Francisco were planned by design book author and editor Diane Dorrans Saeks, who will introduce each location and the designers. Diane is the design authority who is the author of 25 books on interiors and architecture and decor and international design. Diane is the interiors editor of PaperCity and a founding editor with C Magazine, California Style. Among Diane’s latest books, all published by Rizzoli, are ’Stamps & Stamps Style & Sensibility’, and ‘Jean-Louis Deniot Interiors’. Her newest book, ‘Parisian by Design Interiors of David Jimenez’ will be published in September 2022. Diane plans and leads the SFDW visits to the private design studios of leading and influential San Francisco interiors designers. These top designers work on diverse and very exciting projects around the world including city and country residences, hotels, private clubs, restaurants, resorts, highrises, retail, company headquarters, and private retreats. They work in many styles, many approaches, a myriad of projects and designs.
