Design carries lasting power to affect the way people experience and think about the world around them. Designers, then, have a great responsibility to make conscious, thoughtful choices in the work they do—whether it’s graphic design, product design, design strategy, etc. But even with the best of intentions, all humans are subject to implicit bias—which influences the choices they make. In many ways, our minds have a mind of their own.

Fortunately, there are ways to intercept our biases. The first step is increasing awareness—becoming more conscious of the biases each of us holds. This interactive session invites participants to interrogate their biases in a variety of scenarios they encounter daily as designers and communicators.
