We are quickly approaching the end of an era defined by black-box, top-down, waterfall government and public service delivery. Human-centered methodologies like service design, agile development and more modern approaches to public participation are taking root in how government and nonprofits curate the design and delivery of public services.
Join CivicMakers for a massive meetup of civic designers who are leading the charge and growing a movement for a more responsive, human-centered public sector. We’ll start with an interactive panel discussion featuring leading civic designers, as well as those innovating public services who may not have previously considered themselves “designers.” We’ll hear what this diverse set of individuals representing public agencies and nonprofits have to say about challenges and opportunities in the field, followed by a happy hour and meetup connecting the Bay Area civic design community with anyone whose curiosity may be piqued by the topic.
Whether you’re a seasoned civic designer, or just want to learn more about the space, we can’t wait to meet you!
