EVENT TYPES


WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN APPLICATIONS:

  • San Francisco Design Week is a highly curated series of events. We strive for diversity in topics and types of hosts ranging from start-ups, small studios to large tech companies. Our selection committee will review to ensure that your topic and format are aligned with our mission and offering a broad range of ideas
  • Programming that showcases the authenticity and diversity of the Bay Area design community
  • Experiences that will resonate with our audience
  • Each submission will be reviewed by a selection committee within 2 weeks of your completed application and accepted applications will be awarded/notified on a rolling basis
  • Pro tip: Steer clear of generic topics! Offer a truly unique experience and stand out of the crowd of hundreds of other design events

WHY DO WE CHARGE AN APPLICATION FEE?

  • As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the application fee allows us to deliver on our promise to effectively promote your event to the press, media and general audience. The fees also allow us to continue operating in an expensive city as a non-profit
  • We offer guidance and consultation with our staff to create a memorable event that is well positioned for the SFDW audience
  • If your application is not approved the fees are refunded to you
  • Non-Profits register for free, all fees are waived
  • We’re an accessible organization, everyone is welcome no matter your background or status. If you are experiencing a hardship but would like to participate please fill out this application
