DESCRIPTION:Come along to learn about service design and connect with service designers. We’ll have info and activities to learn about it\, plus a space to connect with others practicing or interested in service design.  \nWHO IS THIS FOR? \n​Anyone interested in service design! Whether you’re a seasoned service designer\, someone looking to pivot into service design\, or just curious about how service design principles can apply to your field of work\, everyone is welcome. \n​Great discussions come out of varied work experiences and perspectives. Feeling shy about your limited service design experience? Don’t be\, the goal is to bring people together and learn from each other! \nWHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? \nWe’ll have info about service design and activities set up to give you a feel for what it is. Activities will be running in parallel and guided by someone from the Service Design Network so you can do them at your own pace. Feel free to come for the whole event\, or to just drop in to see what’s happening. Already know the basics? Come along to connect with others in the field. We’ll have snacks and drinks set up and you can choose your own adventure. \nWHAT DOES MY TICKET INCLUDE? \nThe ticket price supports the SF Service Design Network to pay for snacks and drinks that we’ll cater for the event\, as well as our printing and stationary costs for the activities we’re running. Half of the ticket price goes to SF Design Week to cover their operating costs. \nWHAT IS SERVICE DESIGN? \n​​Service design is an interdisciplinary practice that leverages research to solve problems in a system or service\, leveraging design thinking to solve the problem. Service designers look holistically at an entire service ecosystem\, leveraging the perspectives of employees\, customers\, and stakeholders to deliver a cohesive service solution. \n​No matter your title\, anyone can do service design work or benefit from learning about these design concepts. Join us to learn more! \nABOUT THE SF SERVICE DESIGN NETWORK \nWe’re a local chapter of the global Service Design Network (SDN). We run events throughout the year focused around the discipline and connecting the service design community.
