Voices of Tomorrow: A Platform for Emerging Design VoicesAre you ready to share your story and shape the future of design?
Voices of Tomorrow is a storytelling and speaker development program for emerging and underrepresented voices in design. Over 6 weeks, selected participants will receive coaching, mentorship, and support to develop and deliver a short public talk at our final showcase event during San Francisco Design Week on June 10, 2025.
This Years Theme is Reform/Examining Ideas of Change: The Bay area has long been at the forefront of thought leadership and influence through design and innovation. As we continue to shape the future, we have an opportunity to investigate our relationship to past and present, and our power to reform processes, structures, materials, beliefs, behaviors and systems that have the potential to impact society and culture.

PROGRAM TIMELINE:
– Runs April 1, 2025
– Final Showcase: April 10, 2025 in San Francisco (during San Francisco Design Week)
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Early-career designers, students, creatives, or anyone who wants to learn/improve/practice your public speaking skills who are willing to commit to a fast paced program by putting in the effort to share an idea or design story. Emerging designers from underrepresented backgrounds will take priority for placement. You must know how to create your own slides. Applicants must be a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area region.
COMMITMENT: Candidates must commit to:
- Attending a kick-off meeting
- 3 additional online workshops (approx 60-90 minutes each)
- Complete worksheets/homework in between online sessions
- Meet with your Mentor twice (once virtually and once in person)
- Be available to participate in the rehearsal late afternoon June 10th, 2025 in San Francisco
- Be available to present your talk at the online showcase during San Francisco Design Week the evening of June 10th, 2025
