On Thursday, June 13, Monotype is hosting Brand Talks San Francisco at the W Hotel. This is the second consecutive year Monotype will bring its Brand Talks program to the Bay Area. Brand Talks is a unique opportunity to hear directly from brands about how they use design and typography to meet the demands of modern technology and customer expectations. The presentations will focus squarely on how design connects brands and consumers, and helps brands to evolve in real time without sacrificing their visual identity. You can read a recap of last year’s event here.
This year, attendees will hear from Eventbrite and Thumbtack, two companies that recently rebranded with an eye toward agility and adaptability. Each brand will share an inside look at their rebranding process, with insights into how typography, in particular, helped shape the creative process.
Monotype Type Director Charles Nix will also share a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Helvetica Now, the first update to the iconic design in over 35 years. Nix worked closely on Helvetica Now, which was fully redrawn with optical sizes to optimize legibility at small sizes.
And, of course: Free drinks and snacks and plenty of time to network with your peers.
