I build small-batch, unique, and custom furniture and fine goods. I am interested in exploring different elements of the woodworking process. I enjoy drawing on the history of American furniture, but am also inspired by found organic forms and textures from the process itself.

The Maker and Their Production Space
I am currently a one-person operation, I design and make everything myself.
My shop is a live/work studio in an old renovated grocery store in the small Bay Area town of Crockett.

The Making Process
All work is designed and handcrafted locally. Some work draws on American furniture tradition and uses more classic techniques and mortise and tenon joinery, Other work is more sculptural and uses experimental design and processes. This work is generally inspired by found pieces of wood, often unwanted and irregular offcuts from lumber mills.

The Production Model
I focus on small-batch production of my furniture designs, one-off sculptural pieces, as well as a lot of custom work. I enjoy the quality and efficiency that comes with reproducing designs, but am more excited by the creativity in working with found sculptural pieces and the challenge of custom work.

The Materials
I am very focused on working efficiently and sustainably. All wood is sourced from FSC certified mills with sustainable forestry practices. As much as possible I work with smaller Bay Area mills, occasionally milling and drying lumber myself, and embrace native California species over more standard Eastern hardwoods. All finishes are zero-VOC and non-toxic.
