YMSF is a design and craft collaboration between Yvonne Mouser and Stella Fluorescent (Tiersa Nureyev and Eric Hilburn). Our studio is a creative merging of each artist’s expertise, from fashion to furniture and beyond. Through the use of wide-ranging materials in sometimes disparate pairings our work is an object exploration of scale, sculpture and utility.

YMSF products are handmade by Yvonne and Tiersa in our collaborative studio in Oakland.

The Making Process
Yvonne and Tiersa have cultivated a collaborative approach that creates a continuous stream of experimentation. They use an exploratory making-based practice to develop material and process-driven collections that harness and expand on their craft expertise in furniture, woodworking, textiles and fashion.

The Production Model
YMSF’s goal is to explore ideas and materials through the making of functional and unique pieces. A small-batch and made-to-order model allows them to naturally evolve and change as their creative practice grows.

The Materials
They use a variety of materials such as wood, metal, and textiles, and make design and material decisions based on improving efficiency, durability and maintaining low impact production.
