“Design matters and is changing the world around us,” says Dawn Zidonis, executive director of AIGA SF. She strikes at the core of San Francisco Design Week, a week-long event that highlights human-centered design capable of enriching even the simplest parts of our lives.
This is why SF Design Week Hub with WestEdge SF is focusing on an incredible cast of lighting and furniture designers. WestEdge, a production company dedicated to promoting design, is helping to bring these beautiful products to the Hub.
The Hub, which is set to open as the center of events for Design Week at Pier 27 along the Embarcadero waterfront, will be open on June 4-5 for an Exhibition of Modern Design. The exhibition will include the work of over 40 furniture and lighting designers with a couple of intriguing additions. [See the complete list of exhibitors here.]
This event will not only allow you to view and purchase some incredible pieces, but will also give you the opportunity to speak with the designers, big and small, who are the brains behind them.
We hope you’ll use the Exhibition of Modern Design to dive headfirst into San Francisco Design Week’s incredible calendar of events.
Keep an eye out for our next post. We’ll be giving you a sneak peak of the amazing lighting and furniture designers that are going to be filling the Hub with their creations, including two that could forever change the way we play.
