Storefront Anand Sheth x York Street Collective
Studio Anand Sheth
Honorable Mention
Storefront Anand Sheth x York Street Collective transformed the former Lucca Ravioli corner storefront in San Francisco’s Mission District into a temporary gallery, concept shop, mocktail bar, and gathering space designed as an architectural installation. Developed by Studio Anand Sheth in collaboration with York Street Collective, with support from SF New Deal and Square, the four-month residency embedded contemporary art, furniture, lighting, jewelry, hospitality, and public programming into the rhythms of everyday use. Built in under a month, the project repurposed salvaged Rite Aid gondola shelving with custom OSB millwork, turning the remnants of chain retail into flexible infrastructure for independent artists and makers. Across rotating exhibitions, panels, launches, and receptions, Storefront tested how a small-scale design intervention can reactivate a historic neighborhood site, support West Coast creatives, and make design culture more accessible, social, and rooted in place.
