Ask This Book a Question

Ask This Book a Question is an illustrated, interactive guide to decision-making that reimagines how we interact with books. We’ve spent so much time designing our phones, apps, and feeds for the modern mind. The books we read to learn from, meanwhile, have barely changed in centuries.

Rather than reading front to back, you bring a question you’ve been sitting with — something you’ve been wrestling with, deciding on, circling — and a choose-your-own-adventure guides you toward the stories and biases most alive to where you are. Each of the 40+ cognitive biases is paired with a hand-drawn illustration, a personal story, and exploratory questions. Rather than framing biases as flaws to avoid, the book treats them as ways of leaning into how your mind already works — patterns with both useful and limiting sides. It works less like a book and more like an infinite Magic Eight Ball, one that starts with your question and takes you somewhere you didn’t expect.
