Recipient

Cuzen Matcha Maker Pro is a workplace matcha system that redesigns how caffeinated beverages are created and consumed in the modern office. As the professional evolution of the original Cuzen Matcha—recognized in TIME’s Best Inventions of 2020 and honored at the 2020 San Francisco Design Week Awards—the system prepares fresh matcha and hojicha directly from whole tea leaves, generating only a single piece of plastic waste across several hundred servings.

The project emerged in response to a growing shift in workplace beverage culture. Many Big Tech companies are eliminating bottled teas and disposable pod systems to meet sustainability goals, while younger consumers are increasingly choosing matcha over coffee for its sustained energy and wellness benefits. Yet most offices still provide only coffee infrastructure, leaving limited caffeine options for non-coffee drinkers.

The system has already been adopted by several Big Tech companies and was also honored with the iF Design Award 2026.
