Hybrid: Curiosity in All Things
Hybrid Design
Honorable Mention
For over 20 years, our best ideas have come not from design itself, but from the world around it: collections, obsessions, and cultural fascinations. Brutalist monuments. Science fiction. Muppets. Gravel racing. Japanese toys. Ancient ruins. On the surface, these may seem unrelated, but together they shape how we think and work. Hybrid: Curiosity in All Things turns that philosophy into a book. More than a studio retrospective, it explores how inspiration and execution are inseparable. Client projects sit alongside personal essays, artifacts, and collections, organized by the ideas that influenced them.
This multi-year labor of love extended from design and writing to production oversight. The process embraced experimentation through multiple paper stocks, six bookmarks, two randomly assigned cover colorways, and marbled edges that hint at the vibrancy inside. The result is a book that feels alive and celebrates curiosity as the heart of design.
