Light Bean

Light Bean is a pendant light rooted in nature and local craftsmanship. Designed by San Francisco-based industrial designer Katerina Kopytina, it reflects a commitment to local production, material authenticity, and a more tactile approach to contemporary design.

From shaping and finishing to final assembly, every step takes place locally in the USA. This proximity allows for continuous experimentation, precise control, and an active dialogue between design and making. The packaging is also produced locally in California using 100% recycled and recyclable materials.

Each piece is made from solid North American wood, selected for its natural variation and depth. No two lights are identical. Grain patterns, tonal shifts, and the nuances of hand-finishing become part of the final expression, giving every object its own identity. A unique serial number is engraved on each piece, reinforcing its individuality and small-batch origin.
