Nova is a self-paced yoga learning app designed for younger people navigating high stress, heavy screen use, and inconsistent wellbeing routines. While yoga can support stress regulation, mood, and self-awareness, most wellness apps assume users are already self-motivated and health-literate. Nova starts from the opposite assumption: consistency must be scaffolded before it becomes self-directed. Originally developed during my MDes program in 2022 through literature synthesis and interviews with practitioners and instructors, the concept evolved through 2026 around one insight: the market treats yoga as content to consume rather than a practice to progressively learn and eventually do away from the screen. Nova combines live sessions with self-practice flows using voice cues, minimal visuals, ambient music, and light gamification. Built at the intersection of my yoga and design practice.
