The Long Imagined Home

The Long-Imagined Home reimagines midcentury design for modern family life. This Lafayette residence, featured in Architectural Digest, demonstrates how historic principles can be honored while meeting today’s demands.

In collaboration with Feldman Architecture, we transformed a dated, compartmentalized home into an open sanctuary with extensive windows that flood the interior with natural light and seamlessly connects to the outdoors.

This project exemplifies innovation through restraint. Rather than imposing contemporary aesthetics, we enhanced the home’s original DNA through thoughtful materiality, color, and bespoke pieces that solve modern family needs: storage, flow, function, and adaptability. A custom double queen bed with integrated headboard and lighting anchors the primary suite. Every material choice and spatial decision serves both beauty and everyday function. This project shows how Bay Area’s midcentury heritage can be preserved and evolved for future generations.
