Galanter & Jones is a design + fabrication studio run by brother/sister duo Aaron and Miranda Jones. Founded in 2012, we debuted with a line of heated outdoor seating, the first of its kind. Smooth and warm like a river stone set out in the sun, our pieces are comfortable, durable, and beautiful. Many have said they are as relaxing as being in a hot tub without having to get wet. They completely change the way people can experience the outdoors while simultaneously offering an elegant solution to conventional outdoor heating methods.

The Makers and Their Production Spaces
All of our products are made by hand by our employees. We manufacture out of two facilities: our workshop in The Bayview, San Francisco, and our factory overseas in the Philippines.

The Making Process
Each of our heated furniture designs is cast in smooth stone onto a fiberglass mold (or in some cases molds) by hand. Once removed, they are given time to cure properly. Finally, they are finished by hand – mounted on a powder-coated stainless steel frame, and given an electronic controller, and power source.

The Production Model
We make both of our signature designs, Helios and Evia custom-made-to-order here in San Francisco. We expanded our production capabilities in 2018-19 to scale and allow us to produce new and more affordable designs. Our Philippines factory now makes the two newer Kosmos and Apollo lines.

The Materials & Ingredients
Our chairs are cast using a proprietary, smooth-finishing reinforced concrete, with UV tested/rated pigments incorporated in the mixing/casting process to create our signature colors. The frames are made from powder-coated stainless steel.
