Jason Lees Design
At Jason Lees Design, we design and build timeless modern furniture, objects, and home accessories that are as functional and livable as they are beautiful. Each piece is handcrafted and built to last using the highest quality materials. By combining the warmth of wood with interesting materials and understated details, we build character and individuality into our designs.
The Makers and Their Production Spaces
We build select pieces in-house in our studio workshop, and work with a Petaluma-based woodworker and other local craftsmen including metal workers, upholsterers and finishers to produce our designs.
The Making Process
Each piece of our furniture is handcrafted using both traditional and modern woodworking methods and machinery.
The Production Model
Our furniture is custom designed and made to order, so our clients get exactly what they want and need – and therefore value and take care of it. It’s designed and built to last for decades with the finest quality craftsmanship, materials, and finishes. We strive for timeless design that won’t date and become obsolete. If damaged, our furniture can be repaired and refinished.
The Materials & Ingredients
Our furniture is primarily made of wood – a resilient, renewable, and biodegradable material. We use the highest quality solid wood, plywood, and wood veneer, and source local, domestic, certified green, and reclaimed woods. In addition to wood, we also use materials including Richlite (an eco-friendly solid surface made of compressed wood pulp with resin), recycled steel, glass and natural fiber textiles. Our wood finishes are environmentally friendly low or zero-VOC (volatile organic compound).
