Kali Made Garments
Kali Made Garments creates limited-edition jackets, shirts, and layering pieces perfect for the urban California lifestyle. They are designed to be worn and loved for decades to come.
The Makers and Their Production Spaces
All Kali Made pieces are cut and sewn locally in Oakland and San Francisco. By working with local factories, we can ensure the highest quality production on all of our pieces. Many of the local factories we work with also produce for much larger brands, and we are able to leverage their skills and expertise to create timeless modern garments of exceptional quality.
The Making Process
We love to source vintage and deadstock fabrics from all over California and the world (when possible!) and combine them into thoughtful combinations and silhouettes that our customers love to wear. We can design and develop garments directly with the local factories that produce the pieces, so all of the garments are produced to our exact specifications.
The Production Model
We strive to adhere to a “make less, make better” business and production model, and produce and sell on our own schedule. Our goal is to create stylish pieces that will get better with age and wear. We make garments with a timeless style that our customers will want to wear for decades.
The Materials
Vintage, deadstock and end roll fabrics are sourced for their timeless appeal and minimal environmental impact. We can use and repurpose existing fabrics and turn them into beautiful contemporary garments that our customers love to wear. We’ve also had the opportunity to work with a local Northern California fabric mill, Huston Textile Company, and make shirts out of their amazing heritage-style fabric made with local cotton grown and woven in California. Our knit ribbing is sourced from a specialized knitter in LA that has been making the highest quality knit rib for over 100 years!
