Design Your Future – Proactively Shaping What’s Next

June 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$5.00

What if your next chapter was not something to wait for – but something you could design?

Join Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kernbach from Stanford, Stellenbosch and St. Gallen University, for an intimate and interactive Life Design workshop around Design Your Future, curating the plurality of career and life. This evening invites participants to explore practical, science-based tools for navigating multitudes in transitions with more clarity, confidence, and creative agency. It is based on his book “Design Your Future” published with Cambridge University Press.

Blending design thinking, behavioral science, positive psychology, and visual methods, the session will move beyond a traditional talk. Participants will be guided through a short, hands-on exercise and leave with a tangible mini-zine: a small personal artifact capturing ideas, questions, and first steps for their own future.

Schedule:
7:00–7:15pm – Arrival and welcome
7:15–7:35pm – Short keynote: Why life and career transitions need design
7:35–8:15pm – Interactive mini-zine workshop: Design Your Future in 8 pages
8:15–8:35pm – Conversation, audience questions, and reflections
8:35–9:00pm – DJ music, informal exchange, and closing

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kernbach is Professor for Creativity associated with the University of St. Gallen, Stellenbosch University and Stanford University. He founded the Life Design Lab helping people at all ages and stages to navigate what’s next despite uncertainty. His work explores how design thinking, visualization, behavioral science, and positive psychology can help people navigate transitions and move from insight to action. His latest book is available at: https://www.amazon.com/Design-Your-Future-Innovative-Transition/dp/1009737317.

Perks:
Participants will receive a hands-on Life Design mini-zine template and create their own small future-design artifact during the event. The evening includes an intimate conversation, practical tools, and the opportunity to mingle with others in meaningful ways.

Location:
This interactive workshop format will take place at Fingersnips Media Art & Record Store (https://www.fingersnaps.net/) by DJ Lamont in the Heart & Soul of the Mission District in San Francisco close to Valencia Street. If the weather allows, we can mingle before and after the workshop outside in front of the store with some drinks and music.
