Hello, Robot: Welcoming the Age of Human-Robot Interaction

June 6 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Card79 has been at the cutting edge of design and technology since our inception, continually pushing the boundaries with emerging technologies like neurotechnology and robotics. This year, we’re stepping away from our CAD tools and Post-it notes to invite you to a special evening focused on Human-Robot Interactions.

With the fields of AI and Hardware converging, a technology inflection point is on the horizon. This historical moment holds the potential to enable robots to take on considerably more complex tasks—from caring for aging baby boomers to dramatically simplifying manufacturing processes. But how can we ensure this technical progress will actually address our complex human needs?

Join us as we open our studio for the first time to explore this emerging field of human-robot interactions. We’ll share our latest insights on the intersection of design and robotics and have invited some very special friends and collaborators to give speed presentations on these topics.

Our guest speakers include:

  • Prof. Jussi Ängeslevä, a partner at ART+COM and an independent designer who brings over 20 years of experience in UX and emerging technologies.
  • Greg Katz, an award-winning industrial designer with over 10 years working across design firms and in-house teams at Google X, Everyday Robots, and Amazon Lab126.
  • Afshin Mehin, who will share Card79’s work in developing robots for clients like Neuralink, along with the team’s futuristic projects in speculative robotics.

Stay tuned for more speakers to be added — we have a lot in store for attendees!

Doors open at 6:00 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity — secure your spot and RSVP now!
