Explore the intersection of UX design and AI/ML—how designers can and should shape the user experience around intelligent systems, focusing on usability, transparency, trust, and human agency.
In an era where artificial intelligence is embedded in everything from search engines to smart assistants, the role of user experience (UX) design is being radically redefined. This talk delves into the intersection of AI and UX, examining how designers can create intuitive, ethical, and empowering digital experiences that work in harmony with machine intelligence.
We’ll discuss how designing for AI-driven systems is fundamentally different from traditional UX. AI systems are adaptive, probabilistic, and often opaque, meaning users don’t always understand how decisions are made. This introduces new design challenges, such as building trust, ensuring transparency, and providing effective feedback mechanisms.
We’ll explore:
The talk will conclude by looking ahead, highlighting the emerging roles of UX designers in shaping the future of AI. As tools evolve and AI becomes a design collaborator, UX professionals will need to learn new skills, such as prompt engineering and behavior modeling.
Whether you’re a designer, product manager, or tech enthusiast, this talk will give you practical insights and inspiration to create human-centered AI experiences.
