It is with deep sadness that we are writing this note on the sudden loss of Mayor Ed Lee. For the past 7 years, Mayor Ed Lee led the city of San Francisco and oversaw the technology-driven economic boom. He was known as a strong advocate for civil rights and for his steadfast fight for workers rights. The mayor dedicated his life to public service and was fiercely committed to equality. He was a long time advocate for the creative community and issued annual proclamations in support of SF design week. We thank you, Mayor Ed Lee, for all you believed in and for shepherding our city into the design-driven tech capital that it is.
Our thoughts are with the mayor’s family at this time. We are committed to working with the interim mayor, Board of Supervisors President London Breed, during the transition.
