Sebastian Gier In collaboration with BMW Group in Germany and Umea Institute of Design in Sweden
BMW Xplore is a holistic mobility service design project that has hardware, software and service components and was in collaboration with Umea Institute of Design in Sweden and BMW Group in Germany. The project aims to remove pain-points in mobility through a human-centred and iterative design process that included immersive prototyping from the beginning. The service builds on touchpoints that have been identified in the user research exploring long-distance driving – ranging from touchpoint before, during and after the journey. It empowers people to make plans with less time through mobility experience packages, host guests and give people tools to collaborate and arrange required items. Furthermore, it enables to learn about the surrounding, remember things they saw and even in experiencing time-travelling and share their discoveries with others in the vehicle.
